Whats "Different"?

Well our new referral is for two super cuties! One will be 5 in December and the other will be 8 in October. Both of them have beautiful bright Blue eyes. We are very excited about these two and continue to gather information prior to making our decision on whether or not to travel to Russia to meet them. So whats "different" you are wondering? Well the older of the two is a beautiful little girl named Kristina! The younger is a very cute/handsome little fellow named Ivan (John).

Excitement....

We have received a second referral. We hope you all can understand that although we are excited we are hesitant to share a lot of info until we are confident these are the kiddos for us. We will say that there is a "different look" to this pair...

Continuing the Journey...

Gloria and I have made the decision that our adoption journey is not yet reached its destination. Although Gloria and I know in our hearts that we are not the right parents for A and V, we pray that they find their parents soon. While our journey to find our future son(s) continues we hope that you will join us in praying for these two little boys. We appreciate your support.

Trip on....

Tonight we bought the tickets! Gloria and I will be leaving for Vladivostok on 2-27-09 (her birthday). We have a 1 night layover in Seoul and then into Vlad on Sunday (Vlad time). We expect to get to meet the boys on Monday or Tuesday depending on when we can get all the paperwork completed at the MOE. We will be getting to visit a few hours a day Tuesday through Thursday and making our intentions known to the MOE on Friday. Then flying home to wait for a court date. Stay tuned for more!

Change Number 1....

Well, Looks like a slight delay in our trip. It seems there is a run on adoptions! Actually looking at it from a different (big picture) angle its great news. We have been told that our Detski Dom (Russian for Child Home) is "overbooked" for adoptive parent visits for the week of the 16th. WACAP has informed us to plan on the week of the 23rd. (See I was right Gloria will be spending her birthday in Russia/or on the way home from Russia.) With a slight possibility of it getting pushed off another week until the first week in March. In addition we have found out that one of the WACAP staff will be at our Sons Detski Dom in the next couple of days and they are taking the Digital camera with them! We will have some new photos to look at soon. I don't think we mentioned it on the blog but the original photos we have appear to have been taken in November of 07. It will be nice to have more recent shots and see what the boys look like now that they are a bit older. Well thats it for now. Please keep us in your prayers!

We did it....

Well, initial returns from the IA doctor are positive. We are planning our trip to Russia! Looks like we will be heading over to meet the boys for either the 16th or the 23rd of February. Our Visa application is going in today and we are waiting on tentative travel options from our special adoption travel agent. We will most likely be traveling through L.A. to Seoul on to Vladivostok and staying at the Vladivostok Motor Inn http://www.vlad-inn.ru/oldversion. In addition to the photo albums we have put together for the boys we have, with a lot of help from Gramma and Papa Harry, made the boys each a pillow with this Photo of us on it. Once we arrive in Russia we will meet with the Ministry of Education to formally request to meet the boys. If our request is granted we will go to the Orphanage to spend some time with them each day for 3 or 4 days. After this we will work with the Orphanage and the MOE to determine if the boys are right for our family and then submit paperwork to submit a request for a court date to adopt them. Watch for more timely updates moving forward....
Love to all,
Kenny, Gloria and Keegan
