Still waiting..............

Well another week goes by (12 and counting). Still no court date! We did find out that the judge asked for some additional different paperwork from us. They got our State Police Clearance form and there was some sentence on it she didn't like. I guess it doesn't matter that we are not criminals or have any criminal record for that matter, but she did not like the wording of one sentence on the form. So we have to get new ones that are acceptable to the judge. They are supposed to be overnighted and then apostilled and in Russia by Monday for delivery to the court on Tuesday. I guess we wait from there.

Please say a few prayers for us! We can use all we can get!

It's a Girl!?

Well my little sister Sue and her husband Don had a little girl this week! Grace Josephine Chapman was born on July 19th. Girls are hard to come by in our family for some reason. We welcome little Grace as only the 2nd Neice. (There are a total of 7 nephews). Grace was born at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland as Don is a Major in the Army stationed in DC. The whole Chapman family will be departing for Germany in Early September for their next assignment. Of course soon there will be 3 Neices and 8 Nephews! We have heard from the agency that the paperwork that the judge needed has been submitted and we expect to receive a date for court any day now. Keep your fingers crossed.....

Time table update

Well we had a call with WACAP last night and got some news. Due to a request by the judge we continue to wait for a court date. After hearing about the request we do understand that it is necessary. Of course this will however delay our trip for court. It is good to know however that the judge has at least reviewed our file and is working on our case. WACAP tells us that there is a good chance we will have a court date after this requirement is met and they expect it to be met on Tuesday (Russia). So keep checking the blog and we will of course publish any news we get. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

He's home!

Well, Keegan got home this morning..............an hour or so late but home none the less. He had a great time! He got to swim, canoe, fish, camp and even cliff jump. The first thing he asked us when he saw us..............was "Well when are you going to get my sister and brother?" We had to tell him that we had no news for him. He was quite bummed. He really is looking forward to being a big brother.

Everything else at the Duda household is about the same.....just waiting for the news of when we get to travel back to Russia. We sure are hoping that it is soon! We are getting very anxious!

Keegan's on his way....

Last night Keegan left on his summer adventure to Canada. He is on a high school age trip to Quetico Provential Park, a reserve park in Canada, just outside of Ontario and just North of Minnesota. The trip is a Canoe trip for 10 days with lots of water, fishing, camping and canoeing. We are gonna miss him for the week but we think it will be a good experience being away from home. A family from our church that has adopted a little girl from China is sending their 2 sons on the trip. Keegan knows the boys from school and football so it's not like he is with a bunch of strangers. There is also one of the teachers from Keegan's school on the trip as a chaparone. In the mean time we continue to wait on word about a court date. Our ministry letter and dossier should be at the courthouse in Vlad today and we have a call to discuss scheduling progress on this Thursday. Keep your prayers coming and fingers crossed...we are still thinking the 31st for court. We have verified that the toys I had arranged for my company to donate have arrived at the orphanage and have been distributed to the kids. We asked the caregivers what they needed for the kids and found out that about 20 boys younger then 10 years old were sharing 4 matchbox cars (some of which were missing wheels). I arranged for 80 to be shipped. I also arranged for a case of "Barbie toys" to be shipped for the girls. We have also collected a suitcase full of baby dolls and lego's that we are taking over with us on trip 2.

Papers to the Court!!!

Just got off the phone with WACAP. The Ministry Letter that we have been waiting for on the kids finally made it to the Department of Education. That means our paperwork can be submitted to the court. This will happen on Monday. The court only accepts paperwork on two days, Mondays and Wednesdays, and you all know that they are a day ahead of us. This is a great thing! Next....................we get a court date. Hopefully all of our paperwork and the kid's paperwork is in order and the judge looks it over and gives the okay for a court date. We may still need to get some paperwork for the judge, but hopefully she will set a date and we can get the paperwork to the court before then.
