New things!

Kristina started school on Friday! She loves it! Her teacher is very excited to have her in the class. The kids have welcomed her with open arms, so everything is going great! We just need to get her to eat her lunch. We think she is just a little overwhelmed by all the kids in the lunch room - there are at least 100 and she was used to maybe 30 in the dining room at the Children's Home at a time.

Social Security Cards - can't get them until we receive the "citizenship papers" on the kids.

MID Registration - getting ready to send off to our agency. This registers the kids with the Russian Consulate.

Appointments - John has a doctor appointment on Wednesday (First). We have to make an appointment for the dentist and another appointment for Kristina to get some cavities taken care of.

So everything at the Duda house is coming along wonderfully! Big brother loves it and loves the fact that the kids adore him!

So until later................

Hi! So glad to hear things are going well!

FYI--I applied for both boys' SS numbers within a few days of arriving home. We didn't need their Certificate of Citizenship--their Visa stamp on their Russian passport was sufficient enough to prove citizenship.

No worries on the SS cards, ours showed up in the mail? US certificates of citizenship are also already here! Glad that Kristina will adjust fine and eat soon--she won't starve herself, and will figure out eating lunch is fun!

Wow...Kristina is just moving into mainstream life wonderfully! Love the pics of both kids - both look so happy.

We got our Cert. of Citizenship 4 weeks to the day that we arrived home and I applied for the SS card shortly afterwards. Got Kristina's card in the mail one week later.

Looking forward to more updates!

Some SS offices are different... when I applied for T's they looked at me like I had 5 heads and told me they had to have the papers translated on their own. They couldn't find someone to do it -- and when I went back I had the citzenship paper but they still wanted another proof of identity. SHEESH! But alas, we got it all done! No worries -- your citzenship paper should be there within the first 30 days or after you are home. So soon!
